A range of enriching programmes will be organised to create bonding opportunities for fathers, fathers-to-be, grandfathers and children! Look forward to read-aloud sessions, storytelling performances by fathers and Junior Reading Ambassadors, a parenting talk on “How To Raise A Little Book Lover”, games, recommendations on books for children, and many other fun activities. Fathers can be role models and “Dads for Life” by reading to their children regularly!

A collaborative effort between NLB and Dads for Life’s Fathers@Schools (Pre-Schools) programme
Calling all fathers with pre-school children (age 5 to 6 years old)! Make a date with the National Library Board’s 10,000 & More Fathers Reading! “Sleepover@Library” event. There will be a slew of enriching programmes and literacy related activities such as storytelling performances, an amazing race, a sharing session on ways to cultivate a love for reading with your children, reading tips, recommendation on children’s books, cool crafts, among others. Fathers and kids alike can look forward to a fun-filled weekend at the Sleepover@Library!
Maximum Capacity: 40 pairs of fathers and children (5 to 6 years old) on a first-come-first-served basis.
Date & Time: From Saturday, 19 November 2011, 5pm to Sunday, 20 November 2011, 10am

Join us and discover ways to cultivate a love for reading among your children! Gain the benefits of reading early to your children and introduce age appropriate books to spur their interests in reading. You gain the hands-on experience through activities and resources, and to create a supportive reading environment for your children to pick up books and READ!

Unleash your imagination and you will be amazed at how creative you can be! Parents and their children can team up, piece together paper pieces and turn their creation into their very own storybooks. The workshops also incorporate creative writing where participants can take on an experiential journey of book-making fun!
