A collaborative effort between NLB and Dads for Life’s Fathers@Schools (Pre-Schools) programme

Calling all fathers with pre-school children (age 5 to 6 years old)! Make a date with the National Library Board’s 10,000 & More Fathers Reading! “Sleepover@Library” event. There will be a slew of enriching programmes and literacy related activities such as storytelling performances, an amazing race, a sharing session on ways to cultivate a love for reading with your children, reading tips, recommendation on children’s books, cool crafts, among others. Fathers and kids alike can look forward to a fun-filled weekend at the Sleepover@Library!

Maximum Capacity: 40 pairs of fathers and children (5 to 6 years old) on a first-come-first-served basis.
Date & Time: From Saturday, 19 November 2011, 5pm to Sunday, 20 November 2011, 10am
Venue: Central Public Library (Children’s Section), National Library Building, Basement 1 (Nearest MRT Station: Bugis)

Calling all fathers, grandfathers and soon-to-be fathers!

Join us and discover ways to cultivate a love for reading among your children! Gain the benefits of reading early to your children and introduce age appropriate books to spur their interests in reading. You gain the hands-on experience through activities and resources, and to create a supportive reading environment for your children to pick up books and READ!

Unleash your imagination and you will be amazed at how creative you can be! Parents and their children can team up, piece together paper pieces and turn their creation into their very own storybooks. The workshops also incorporate creative writing where participants can take on an experiential journey of book-making fun!

Admission is free! (Maximum capacity: 25 pairs of fathers and children)

Tell a Story, Read a Story – Bonding Time with My Child

Everyone loves a good story, especially your children. Story Time is an excellent bonding opportunity and it is a precious moment between you and your child where nothing else in the world matters, except you, your child and of course, the story!

Join our 10,000 & More Fathers Reading & Bonding Workshops and find out how you can make the most of Story Time. Gain some tips and techniques on how you can make this time, whether you are sharing a story or reading aloud together with your child, truly enjoyable and meaningful.
